HOOFS Member Recognition Dinner
Thanks for inspiring us and more importantly THANK YOU for all that you do in the equine and livestock communities!

As the Livestock and Land grant winds down for its fifth time being funded, it is time to celebrate your contributions to the overall success and contribution to HOOFS (Hoof Owners Organized For Stewardship). Together over 40 HOOFS members have completed in excess of 987 volunteer hours at more than 60 events throughout the Central Coast far exceeding our target goal by 205%. With the support of each of your efforts this past grant cycle, our accomplishments have included:
- Reaching 195 new facilities in the Central CoastEngaging with more than 280 people at technical workshops and hands-on trainings
- Inspiring 27 participants to voluntarily implement a combined total of 130 Best Management Practices (BMPs) at their facilities
- Providing over 80 site visits assisting property owners with recommendations to improve their facilities and protect water quality.
- Completing 15 more demonstration projects representing:
172.27 total acres (0.26917 sq. mi.)
38 total BMPs implemented including:
4,390,000 lbs (2,195 tons) of manure properly managed
19,708 lbs (9.9 tons) of nitrogen prevented from entering into our waterways per year
7,257 tons of sediment prevented from eroding and washing into our waterways annually

Oh…did I mention that I may have some cool swag to give out for all your great efforts. In the past we’ve given out belt buckles, t-shirts and canvas bags….I assure you that this time we have goodies just as, if not more, exciting!
